
Tâmega e Sousa with free internet in town and city centres
The Intermunicipal Community (CIM) of Tâmega e Sousa will provide free Internet in the historical centres of the villages and cities of the territory, available, in an investment estimated at about 220,000 euros, was announced on 7 September.
According to that CIM, “the areas with the greatest influx of tourists and visitors” will also be considered and will now be covered with a free high-quality wireless Internet network”.
The investment is planned in an international public tender already published in the Diário da República.
“The implementation of this solution will improve the experience of the tourist in their visit to the region and contribute to a more intelligent management of the tourist destination,” notes the CIM.
The project “Tâmega e Sousa Wi-fi”, as the new technological tool is called according to the group of municipalities based in Penafiel, is “an important contribution to the consolidation of the strategy of CIM Tâmega e Sousa for the tourism sector, in order to make this region increasingly attractive.
