Truck-Based Cadillac Hearse Is The Ultimate Way To Depart Earth

Cue the Black Sabbath at the funeral.

Cadillac has been in the car manufacturing game for 118 years, and in that time it has seen many customers come and go. To the grave. Yes, Caddy builds some great cars such as the Escalade and CTS-V, but they've also been known to dabble in the business of death by building a wide range of hearses. A Cadillac hearse isn't anything new, but the one on display here comes close to topping the weirdness that is the Tesla Model S hearse, or even the Porsche Panamera coffin carrier. Offered for sale by Streetside Classics, this beast takes things to the next level of absurdity and excess.

Officially titled the Brougham Hearse, this 1990 death machine is a hearse on steroids and rides on a K10 truck chassis with lifted suspension. As if it needs any more modifications, the Brougham hearse sits atop a set of polished 17-inch ION wheels and Mastercraft MXT tires that look ready to dig up the dead. The interior looks pretty stock, which means you get clouds for seats and lots of wood. Luxuries include cruise control, automatic climate control, and power locks. Modern amenities such as Bluetooth streaming, an upgraded AM/FM/CD infotainment system with a touchscreen interface, and most importantly, a backup camera have also been added.

Under the hood of this gravedigger lives a 5.7-liter V8 which has been updated with fuel injection and aluminum radiator for added reliability. Power is sent to the rear end via a 700R4 four-speed automatic transmission. Bringing the car to a stop is a set of upgraded disc brakes. According to Streetside Classics, the Boughman Hearse shows 66,959 miles on the odometer, but the actual mileage is unknown. The price for this strange piece of automobilia? Well, it's set at a reasonable $19,995. This thing was built to party, and just think about all the business opportunities...
