‘We say this every season but I promise it’s different this time’ – AB de Villiers confident of ‘fresh’ RCB ahead of IPL 2020
He credited the skipper Virat Kohli for bringing out the best in everyone and carrying the team forward with ethics.
by CricTrackerThe 13th Indian edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) is just a handful of days away now, and players have been talking about their preparations for the season. Teams have been training hard to stand out from the rest, and the time will tell who steals the glory. Moving in the same trend, the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) stunner AB de Villiers spoke about his team’s preparations. He believes that the team has really given its sweat and blood during the practice sessions.
The Proteas player also feels that their roster is well balanced and deep this time. He credited the skipper Virat Kohli for bringing out the best in everyone and carrying the team forward with ethics. Having said that, the entire RCB squad is looking forward to bearing fruits of their ultimate hard work.
“We’ve worked so hard, we have a really good work ethic. A lot of credit has to go to Virat for that. It’s easy to follow when you have a captain leading from the front. I’m just looking forward to see the final product of the hard work we’re putting in,” ABD said in an episode of ‘Bold Diaries’.
Mr 360 also stated that one finds it difficult to fit in and get in the form after coming back from a long break, but this is not the case with him now. He is finding himself in a comfortable space where he is only thinking to bring out the positive for the team in IPL 2020.
There’s a different, fresh feel to the team that I can’t explain, says AB de Villiers
“It’s a tricky one because we say that every season, ‘Oh, this year’s our team’. I promise it’s different, that’s all I’ll say. I won’t say we’ve got the best team, here we go. There’s a different, fresh feel to the team that I can’t explain. There’s backups everywhere and options in every department,” AB de Villiers added.
He seconded Kohli in the fact that their team has got the best balance ahead of 2020. It hasn’t ever looked so well after 2016, and there are backups for everything in their squad. There is altogether a ‘different and fresh’ feel that might bring luck to the team. It remains to be seen if the action matches the words for RCB when the season gets underway for them.
