Lewis Hamilton Investigated for Breonna Taylor Shirt at Tuscan Grand Prix

by

This past Sunday, racing star Lewis Hamilton made a statement by wearing a black t-shirt that said: “Arrest the cops who killed Breonna Taylor.” Now, it has been revealed that the British F1 racing may be under investigation for the gesture at Italy’s Tuscan Grand Prix.

Hamilton reportedly wore a shirt that features the previously mentioned statement on the front, along with “Say Her Name” on the back of the shirt. As a result, the F1 racer is being investigated for the tribute. Hamilton is facing fines for his statement, and racing officials said they are working to figure out if the statement on the shirt violated the “no political statement” rule for the race. Hamilton has previously been vocal about the injustices Black people face in the UK, along with that of Black Americans, saying, "A lot of people think it is only happening in the states. Yes, there is the police brutality in the states, but systemic racism is across the world."
