Jennifer Zamparelli to host 'open discussion' about masks on 2FM

Jennifer Zamparelli is being blasted online for hosting an 'open discussion' about the wearing of face masks on her show.

The 2FM DJ took to social media earlier today to ask for inputs and opinions about the masks - but many people have questioned why this is a debate at all?

It comes after cases across Ireland continued to rise, with Dublin in particular beginning to skyrocket.

Zamparelli tweeted:

''We are having an open discussion on my show on @RTE2fm tomorrow about face masks. Do you have strong opinions on wearing them or not wearing them ? I’d love to hear from you. Mail me jen@rte''

It did not go down well with the majority of the responses condemning Zamparelli for giving anti-mask wearers a platform.

'Jennifer, people who don't agree with wearing masks assaulted someone outside the Dáil to the point where she was bleeding from her head on Saturday. And you want to give these loons a platform?' one user responded.

The DJ, did answer one critic though.

Many people have said that they will contact the show's sponsors if the debate goes ahead as planned.
