Eagles Vinny Curry, Jack Driscoll leave the game with injuries | What does this mean for the offensive and defensive lines?

by

The injuries are beginning to pile up for the Eagles as they take on Washington Sunday.

Right tackle Jack Driscoll, who is starting in place of the injured Lane Johnson, was seen walking to the locker room during the 3rd quarter Sunday.

Driscoll has been part of an offensive line that has given up 5 sacks during the game Sunday. Backup tackle Jordan Mailata has entered the game in place of Driscoll.

The more interesting note is that Matt Pryor has not seen time at all during the game. During training camp, Pryor filled in for Johnson as the starting right tackle when Johnson was recovering from ankle surgery.

The line has been getting hampered and the Eagles have seemed content to keep throwing the ball with a banged-up offensive line.

On the defensive side of the ball, defensive end Vinny Curry was seen limping off of the field and back to the locker room. Curry, had two tackles Sunday before leaving the game.

His absence give more time to Josh Sweat to play more snaps. Sweat has played great Sunday, with a sack and a pass deflection. Curry’s absence could affect the team when it comes to the depth along the line. On a warm day early in the season, conditioning will be a factor, and losing a defensive lineman could hamper the pass rush.
