The Amazfit GTR 2 takes a trip to the Bluetooth SIG, possibly confirming it will launch soon
by Deirdre O'DonnellThe Amazfit GTR 2 is due to launch soon. This is strongely indicated by a new entry in the Bluetooth Special Interest Group's (SIG) database that lists this smartwatch by name. It cannot tell us much else, besides the new device's model number (A1952).
The original GTR, made by the OEM Huami's most recognized brand, is a round-faced smartwatch with a broad range of sports modes and functions. It is possible that its newly-confirmed second generation might add more advanced specs such as blood oxygen tracking, although this cannot be gauged through its new official certification.
However, we do now at least know that the GTR 2 will support Bluetooth 5.0. It has also been rumored that Huami also had a second-gen GTS in the works, although the SIG's website has apparently yet to hear of a smartwatch with this product name (correct at time of writing). However, both new wearables are also now thought to launch alongside an Amazfit Smart Scale.
