Heartwarming footage has captured the moment Dudley Zoo's two sloths met for the first time - and love could be in the air.

Reggie has been a firm favourite with visitors since he arrived in July last year and Flo joined the zoo last month.

The one-year-old was brought in from Dierenpark Amersfoort in the Netherlands to partner four-year-old Reggie, as part of a European Studbook Breeding Programme.

Keepers have been working hard to slowly introduce the pair and the first step was to let them see each other through the enclosure’s mesh.

After lots of positive interaction, the diving slide was opened so they could finally meet - and it couldn't have gone better, as can be seen in the video above .

Night vision cameras have captured the Linne’s two-toed sloths nuzzling and they even appereared to share a 'kiss'.

Zoo curator, Richard Brown, said: “Flo’s arrival is fantastic news for the zoo.

“It’s been a species we’ve wanted for a long time and to be in a breeding position with a pair of sloths is brilliant."
