Holly Willoughby jokes she and Phillip Schofield are leaving This Morning

Phillip Schofield noticed a production mistake after the names didn't appear on the titles. He said: "This is an opportunity for us to say thank you and goodbye"

Holly Willoughby joked that today could be her last time presenting This Morning.

Her co-host Phillip Schofield also pretended to walk off the set after noticing a production error while live on air.

When the pair returned from the ad break, it wasn't their names displayed on the titles on screen. It was actually the names of Friday presenter Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford that appeared.

An eagly-eyed Phillip was quick to notice to mistake and he pointed it out to the studio and those watching at home.

"Zooming over the top of the building there," Phillip said before he noticed something on his monitor.

After seeing Eamonn and Ruth's names on screen, Phil then shouted: "Eamonn and Ruth?!

Holly then chimed in and she asked him: "Did that just say Eamonn and Ruth?"

Phil then confirmed that their names were left out. He said: "It said Eamonn and Ruth!"

He then got up from behind the desk and left his seat while going to walk off ITV set.

Holly supported his move and she said: "Bye!"

Phil then gestured from Holly to follow him: "Come on then."

The presenters were discussing their 11th anniversary of fronting the mid-morning show together following Holly's debut in 2009. But they couldn't let the error drop.

Holly then joked that she could be replaced and she didn't know. She said: "Maybe its my last show, I just found out."

Phil continued on the subject as he thanked the viewers for tuning in over the years. He said: "This is an opportunity for us to say thank you and goodbye."

Today's show also saw Holly and Phillip brought back together as they virtually sat side by side on screen.

At the top of the show, Phillip said: "Finally, after six long months, Holly and I are sitting together, side by side."

Holly then jumped in: "Sort of, our very cleaver team..."

Phillip joked they shouldn't have told viewers so people would complain. He said: "We should leave it for a couple of seconds just so that Twitter can get really angry. We will give you just enough time to complain."

Holly continued: "Our very clever team have managed to get rid of that two metre gap and bring us virtually together. Isn't that nice? That feels better."

This Morning airs weekdays on Virgin Media One and ITV from 10am.
