by

Four counties will see temperatures of 25C or above on Tuesday as the east of the country gets some September sun.

Met Eireann are forecasting another scorcher for much of the country although the west will be a small bit cooler.

Most areas will however see 20C temperatures or around that with good spells of sunshine.

Dublin, Carlow, Kildare and Laois are currently forecast to be the warmest spots in the country.

A Met Eireann forecaster said: "Any lingering showers in the east tomorrow morning soon to die out and becoming sunnier throughout the afternoon. Staying cloudier in parts of the west where further showers will develop.

"Some of these could be heavy and slow moving. Highest temperatures of 19 to 24 degrees, warmest in Leinster, in light southerly or variable breezes."
