Mourinho blames coronavirus for defeat
by BeSoccerEverton beat Tottenham in the first game of the season and Jose Mourinho, the Spurs manager, blamed COVID-19 and a lack of preparation for the defeat.
Jose Mourinho has come up with a new excuse for the loss to Everton: COVID-19. That is what the Tottenham boss said after lossing the Premier League opener to Everton.
After the defeat, he said that Tottenham have had several players test positive for the virus and so his team have not been able to prepare the game well.
"Harry Kane has trained once with us. Once, one day. Moussa Sissoko a couple of times. I'm not going to go player by player for different reasons," the Portuguese said in the post-match press conference.
Mourinho explained that that has affected his side's preparation. "Many of our players haven't had a great pre-season," he added.

"We have had positive cases of COVID-19. Of course we have the right to not say who they are, but we've had players who've tested positive," Mourinho argued.
