Ferrari to bring upgrade in Russia: "But it won't make a difference"

by

Ferrari was one of just two teams to complete the Tuscan GP with two cars, along with old rivals Mercedes. However, they did not score many points for the world championship, with Charles Leclerc and Sebastian Vettel P8 and P10 respectively. Mattia Binotto knows that things have to change.

"It is a difficult project, it is not a foregone conclusion," says Binotto, according to Sky Italia. Only five World Championship points were scored by Ferrari during their 1000th race at Mugello.

Binotto not happy with situation

"Leclerc is right, we are disappointed. The pace was not there. After a few laps we lost the speed and that is reflected in the result. There is no explanation for it. There will be a small change for the next race, but it won't make any difference. We need a step back to zero," Binotto says.

According to the 50-year-old Italian, everything is being done to improve. "We are also working hard at the factory to correct the basic package, also with a view to 2021. We cannot count on the small changes. The competitive situation is different from ours, our problem is fundamental and we need more time," said Binotto.
