Celtic are keeping tabs on defensive options due to interest in Kris Ajer - with a midweek report suggesting the Premiership champions wants £15m for the Norway international.
Preston boss Alex Neil insisted earlier this month he is in no rush to see his star man leave anytime soon.
He said: “If they were coming to buy him? Yeah, well if they’ve got £10 million then maybe.
“Peter (Risdale) would probably tell you £20 million. Absolutely not (been any contact) as far as I’m aware."
Meanhwhile, the race is heating up for Celtic-linked Omar Colley as Rennes are ready to step up their interest.
The Gambia international is valued at £9m by Sampodoria but the Serie A side are looking to boost Claudio Ranieri's transfer budget with six players available for transfer.
Colley is a regular for club and country but the 27-year-old could be on the move before the window closes next month.
