As Sara, Rakul’s names emerge in Rhea Chakraborty’s drug case, NCB reportedly denies preparing Bollywood list
As Sara Ali Khan, Rakul Preet Singh’s names emerge in Rhea Chakraborty’s drug case, the NCB has reportedly denied preparing a Bollywood list of alleged drug users.
by Amman KhuranaBollywood actress Rhea Chakraborty, among others, was recently arrested by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) in a drugs case linked to the death of Sushant Singh Rajput. The actress, it was reported, had taken names of 25 Bollywood A-listers for alleged drug use. The names reportedly included that of Sara Ali Khan, Rakul Preet Singh and designer Simone Khambatta.
Even as the reports spread across the internet, a tweet from the fake Twitter account of Rhea’s lawyer Satish Maneshinde, wherein he said that Sara, Rakul and Simone will soon be summoned by the NCB for interrogation, made waves online.
“Sara Ali Khan, Rakul Preet Singh and Simone Khambatta are summoned soon by Narcotics Control Bureau after Rhea Chakraborty confessed that the three actresses consumed narcotics substance,” read the tweet.
However, it has now emerged that the NCB has not prepared any list of Bollywood celebrities. The deputy director of the investigating agency, KPS Malhotra, reportedly said, “We have not prepared any Bollywood list. The list earlier prepared was of peddlers and traffickers. It’s getting confused with Bollywood.”
On being asked about news reports claiming that Rhea had named Sara, Rakul and Simone, the officer said that the names had not been zeroed in. Besides Rhea, the NCB has taken in custody her brother Showik, Samuel Miranda, Dipesh Sawant and a couple of alleged drug dealers.
Sushant, 34, allegedly died by suicide by hanging himself to the ceiling at his apartment in Bandra. The case was initially being investigated by the Mumbai Police. However, after Sushant’s father KK Singh filed a complaint in Patna against Rhea and five others, the Bihar Police started a parallel investigation in Mumbai. Last month, the case was taken over by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI). The Enforcement Directorate (ED), on the other hand, is probing a money-laundering case linked to Sushant’s death.
