Big Sean’s New Record Detroit 2 Makes It To The Top Spot On The Billboard Chart

by

Big Sean just dropped his latest project, Detroit 2, and thus far, it’s been hailed as one of his best albums in years. It marks the first time the rapper has released a record in three years, and since his last effort, a lot of things have happened in his life.

Despite the fact Big Sean rarely posts on social media, he has been using it lately to promote his new record and also speak on a lot of the problems he’s dealt with over the last few years.

Initially, it looked like Big Sean was going to be fighting Tekashi 6ix9ine for the top spot on the Billboard 200, however, it was later projected that Tekashi 6ix9ine’s record wasn’t going to perform as well as he and his team had hoped, essentially making it a sure thing for Big Sean.

As it was previously reported by multiple outlets, publications claimed Tekashi 6ix9ine‘s new record, Tattle Tales would reach 150,000 in its first week but the estimates have since fallen down to a third of their original estimation.

According to Hot New Hip Hop, Big Sean has been holding a six-figure debut and on his account, he thanked his fans and followers for their patience over the last three years. Big Sean went on to thank his fans for giving him his third #1 album in a row.

Not long after the record was released, the Detroit 2 artist did a brief question and answer session with his Twitter followers in which he touched on his future plans as well as the missing features. Reportedly, Sean had intended to release a project with J Cole, but it never made it out of the draft stage.

Moreover, Big Sean says he has plans to start his own record label in Detroit, Michigan, to help other up and coming artists make it big in the industry.

Big Sean was in the headlines a few weeks back when he revealed his new track, “Deep Reverence,” featuring the slain Nipsey Hussle who opened the song in its first bars.
