Manipur: 117 persons without travel history test COVID-19 positive

A total of 144 persons found to be COVID-19 positive in Manipur in the last 24 hours, officials informed on Sunday.

Of these, 117 persons did not have any significant travel history, the officials added.

“Among the new positive cases, 11 are Central Armed Police Force (CAPF) personnel,” the officials said.

With these new cases, the overall COVID-19 tally of the state reached to 7,875.

The new positive cases were detected in the Virus Research and Diagnosis Laboratories of the RIMS, JNIMS and other testing centres.

The new patients are from Churachandpur, Thoubal, Imphal West, Imphal East, Bishnupur, Kakching and Kakching districts.

The newly detected COVID 19 cases have been shifted to the COVID care facilities.

All necessary medical precautionary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place.

Meanwhile, an 86-year-old male patient succumbed to the COVID-19 infection on Sunday, taking the state’s overall tally to 46.

Till the filing of this report, a total of 6,191 patients have been discharged from the various hospital across the state, with 89 of them getting discharged in the last 24 hours.

The total number of active cases in Manipur now stands at 1,638 and the recovery rate of Manipur stands at 78.61 per cent.
