IKEA ROG Gaming Furniture To Be Available In 2021: Focusing On Affordability and Ergonomics

by

The Swedish furniture powerhouse, IKEA has announced a new partnership with ASUS’ gaming division, the Republic of Gamers (ROG) to come out with new gaming-oriented products sometime next year. Yes, we almost couldn’t believe it ourselves.

According to the announcement, the partnership aims to deliver affordable and ergonomic gaming furniture and accessories that are designed to not only increase gaming performance but also blend in nicely with one’s home. It also stated that around 30 products are currently being prepped as the first batch of IKEA x ROG release.

IKEA didn’t reveal the list of the ROG collaborative products that will be released into the market but one of the photos (shown above) that accompanied the announcement seems to hint some of them. Among those that were visible in the list are chair, desk, storage, sound buffer, chair mat, mousepad, mouse bungee, cable management, USB cables, lights, desk dividers, cocoon, alarms, and something called “aggression device”.

Before you rush off to the nearest IKEA brand or start looking for the ROG furniture inside IKEA Malaysia’s website (don’t be fooled by these categories), it is going to take a while before you can buy them though. The announcement stated that the rollout of IKEA x ROG products will start in China first in February 2021 before making their way to other markets in October 2021.

Meanwhile, we are not sure how both parties are going to tackle the affordability factor since ROG is considered a premium brand but we definitely want to see them try. Nevertheless, let’s hope that IKEA Malaysia will bring these ROG co-branded products into our market as soon as they can in 2021.
