Family of Tomasz Lipiec launch fundraiser to take body back to Poland as cops probe death in Glasgow

THE heartbroken family of Tomasz Lipiec have launched a fundraiser to bring his body back to Poland.

Tomasz, 33, was found dead in a property on Dobbies Loan Place in Townhead, Glasgow at around 6,45pm on Monday.

Two men, aged 31 and 50, have been arrested in connection with the death.

Tomasz's family have now started a fundraising campaign to pay to bring his body back to Poland to "bury him with dignity".

The campaign is aiming to raise around £4,000, with just under £1,000 already donated. You can donate to the fundraiser HERE.

The description of the fundraiser reads: "Together with my family, I address people with a good heart who will not be indifferent to the situation in which we find ourselves. 

"On Monday, September 7, 2020, at around 6:45 pm, my brother Tomasz's body was found in Glasgow's Townhead District. 

"The estimated cost of bringing Tomek's body to Poland is about 20,000. PLN. Together with my mother, we are not able to pay all the costs associated with it. 

 

"Funds are also raised among family and friends to help transport my brother's body to Poland so that we can bury him with dignity. 

"We believe that we will be able to collect the necessary amount. Thank you for every symbolic zloty and a good heart."

 "A 50-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with the death of a 33-year-old man in the Townhead area of Glasgow on Monday, 7 September, 2020.

"A 31-year-old man was arrested and charged on Friday, 11 September, 2020. 

"Both men are due to appear at Glasgow Sheriff Court on Monday, 14 September, 2020.

"A report will be submitted to the Procurator  Fiscal."
