Bruno Fernandes is among seven Manchester United players to return to Carrington for pre-season training on Monday.

The 25-year-old is back training with the group for the first time this summer, having stayed in Portugal after playing in the Nations League last week to be present at the birth of his second child.

Fernandes returned to the UK in time to beat new quarantine measures for arrivals from Portugal and posted a picture at Carrington on Saturday, where he trained while the United squad were playing Aston Villa at Villa Park in a pre-season friendly.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka also reported to Carrington for the first time this summer on Monday morning, having been forced to quarantine for two weeks after returning from his holiday in Dubai, while Juan Mata had to quarantine after returning from Spain but is also back in training today.

Nemanja Matic and Fred have also returned to pre-season training for the first time to strengthen numbers in midfield, while Phil Jones and Eric Bailly are back as well.

That means back-up goalkeeper Sergio Romero is the only United player not to be spotted at Carrington since pre-season training began.

The Argentinean could leave Old Trafford this summer after the decision to keep Dean Henderson at the club to challenge David de Gea.

That leaves Romero out of the first-team picture and having not featured in either of the three semi-finals United played last season he could seek to move on a year before his contract expires.
