30 MPs, over 50 Parliament staff test positive for coronavirus on day one of Monsoon Session: Report

The Monsoon Session of Parliament began on Monday with strict norm in place in view of the coronavirus pandemic. It has been reported that around 30 MPs and over 50 employees of Parliament have tested positive for coronavirus in mandatory screenings done ahead of the session yesterday and today. Ruling BJP MPs Meenakshi Lekhi, Anant Kumar Hegde and Parvesh Sahib Singh are among the 30 MPs who have tested positive for COVID-19. Others whose test results have returned positive include Pratap Rao Jadav, Janardan Singh, Sukhbir Singh, Hanuman Beniwal, Sukanata Majumdar, Goddeti Madhavi, Bidyut Baran, Pradan Baruah, N Reddeppa, Selvam G, Pratap Rao Patil, Ram Shankar Katheria, Satya Pal Singh and Rodmal Nagar. Delhi Police seeks 10-day custody of Umar Khalid in UAPA case for February riots

Former Jawaharlal Nehru University student leader Umar Khalid was arrest late on Sunday in connected with the Delhi riots of February 2020. He was charged under the stringent anti-terror law Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act for his alleged involvement in the horrific communal violence in the national capital. Adar Poonawalla, the chief executive of Serum Institute of India (SII), has said that it would take at least four to five years to immunise the world against COVID-19, the disease caused by the novel coronavirus or SARS-CoV-2, said a report. Warning of a shortage of coronavirus vaccine until the end of 2024, the CEO of the world’s largest vaccine manufacturer also said that pharmaceutical firms are not increasing production capacity swiftly enough to vaccine the entire world’s population. Chinese virologist claims COVID-19 was made in govt-controlled Wuhan lab, offers scientific proof

Chinese virologist and whistleblower Li-Meng Yan said that the novel coronavirus was made in a government-controlled laboratory in Wuhan and that she has scientific evidence to prove her claim.
