Furious Neymar: He Called Me A 'Monkey Son Of A B****'

A furious Neymar has revealed why he hit Alvaro Gonzalez before becoming the fifth player to be sent off in the heated clash between Paris Saint-Germain and Olympic Marseille on Sunday.

The Brazilian received a red card in the 90th minute of the feisty affair, during which the referee handed out 12 yellow cards and five reds – a new record for a Ligue 1 match.

During the game, Neymar accused Martinez multiple times of racism, with TV cameras picking him up saying: "Please, come on, no racism here..."

The atmosphere between the two sides boiled over in the fourth minute of injury time as four players received their marching orders following a mass brawl.

Neymar was also sent off following a review by VAR, but he insisted his actions was a result of racial abuse.

"I hit (Alvaro) because he is racist," he said as he walked off the pitch, according to Telefoot and as cited by GFF.

The PSG superstar also told the assistant referee that Alvaro called him: "A f***ing black."

Neymar's claims were backed up by Telefoot journalist Gregoire Margotten, who claimed Gonzalez had said: "Shut your mouth, dirty monkey."

Minutes after the final whistle, the furious 28-year-old took to social media to underline his actions with a feisty statement.

"My only regret is not hitting this guy's face," he wrote on Twitter, loosely translated into English.

Later, Neymar posted another tweet, saying Alvarez called him a "monkey".

PSG lost the game 1-0 courtesy of a first-half goal by Florian Thauvin, making it two consecutive defeats for Thomas Tuchel's side in their first two games of the 2020/21 Ligue 1 campaign.
