Pedestrian dies after crash involving motorcycle in Nottinghamshire village

A man has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by careless driving

A pedestrian has died following a crash involving a motorcyclist in Sutton Bonington.

Police have arrested a man on suspicion of causing death by careless driving whilst over the prescribed limit.

The crash happened in Trowell Lane, Sutton Bonington, at around 11.40am on Sunday, September 13.

The road has been closed while the police investigation continues at the scene.

Detective Sergeant Adam Cooper, who is leading the investigation, said: "The pedestrian sadly died at the scene. Officers are liaising with the man's family and our thoughts are with them at this sad time.

"The motorcyclist was taken to hospital with injuries that are not believed to be life-threatening.

"Enquiries are continuing and I would appeal to anyone who witnessed the collision, or has any dash-cam footage that may be helpful to the investigation, to get in touch as soon as possible."

The pedestrian was a male but no further details have been released.

Anyone with information is urged to contact Nottinghamshire Police on 101, quoting incident number 285 of 13 September 2020.
