New updates for Ferrari in Russia: ''It won't change the picture''

by

It was supposed to be a big party, Ferrari's anniversary race at its own Mugello, but it didn't develope. Despite eight drivers dropping out, Ferrari only managed to score five points from the Grand Prix in Italy.

It looked a bit rosy for Ferrari when Charles Leclerc had qualified in fifth place. A perfect start even took the man from Monaco into third place. Not much later, however, it turned out that the Ferrari's race pace was terrible.

Ferrari falls a long way back

Further and further Leclerc slumped into midfield until he came close to teammate Sebastian Vettel, who was already far behind due to a poor qualifying session. In racepace only Haas' cars were slower, where Williams was able to keep up with the Ferrari and Kimi Raikkonen in his Alfa Romeo even managed to finish ahead of both Ferrari's on the track.

For the Russian Grand Prix, Ferrari hope to make a step in the right direction, because then, according to Auto, Motor und Sport, the team will come up with a new aerodynamic package. However, Mattia Binotto does not show too much hope. ''It is just a small update, which will not change today's big picture. We have to go back to the drawing board and think about what we are going to do towards 2021'', concludes Binotto.
