Spanish giants Real Madrid have reportedly set Gareth Bale's price tag at a fee that would make him affordable to Manchester United.

The Welshman, who has been strongly linked with a move away from the LaLiga giants in recent years, could finally be close to an exit.

While Los Blancos have previously demanded big money for his signature, Mundo Deportivo has claimed they would be willing to let him depart for a fee of about £18 million (R386 million).

This low figure has many publications claiming that the Red Devils could swoop for the 31-year-old, who recently admitted that Real have made a desired exit from the Santiago Bernabeu in the past difficult.

In a recent interview, the former Tottenham Hotspur winger said he still has many years left in him, which would suggest he still has a passion for the beautiful game.

Ex-Liverpool midfielder John Barnes recently questioned Bale's hunger, with the Wales international having not played a lot of football over the past two years.

Los Blancos are reportedly eager to get the former Premier League star off their books due to his astronomical earnings, although there are doubts as to whether or not United would be able to match his current wages.
