Edo 2020: How APC Plans To Rig Saturday’s Governorship Election – PDP
by Oladipo AbiolaThe Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has alleged that the All Progressives Congress (APC) is perfecting plans to rig the 2020 governorship election in Edo State.
According to a statement on Sunday by the PDP’s National Publicity Secretary, Kola Ologbondiyan, APC plans to use frivolous lawsuits to rig the election.
He alleged that the APC decided to go the way of lawsuits after it dawned on the party that the people of the state were not going to vote for it and its candidate during Saturday’s governorship polls.
Speaking further on his allegation, Ologbondiyan said APC had concluded plans with some not-too-popular political parties to approach the courts with a view to causing a constitutional crisis by demanding court orders to halt the election.
In his words, “The Peoples Democratic Party raises alarm over plots by certain interests recruited by the All Progressives Congress to use frivolous lawsuit to scuttle the September 19 Edo state governorship election, following APC’s realization that there is no way it can win the election.”
