NEET 2020 exam is about to begin. Candidates can check the dress code, important documents, items allowed in the exam centre and the SOPs for COVID19 that will be followed here.

National Eligibility cum Entrance Test, NEET 2020 would begin in a while. The exam would be conducted in more than 3000 centers from 2 pm to 5 pm today. Candidates will have to reach the exam center by 1.30 pm. All the candidates appearing for the exam can check the dress code to appear for the exam, required documents, items allowed and not allowed in the exam hall, and Standard Operating Procedure, SOPs for COVID19 to be followed in the exam. 

Please note, due to COVID19, frisking would be done by handheld devices attached to a long stick to maintain proper social distancing. NEET 2020 Dress Code – what is allowed and not allowed

  1. Masks are mandatory. Students can wear gloves and face shields.
  2. Please note, candidates can wear light coloured weather appropriate loose clothes. Jeans, salwar suit, culottes, long skirts, trousers, t-shirts, shirts all are permitted
  3. Full sleeve shirts, dresses with big buttons and dark or tight clothes are not advisable. Shoes are not allowed and candidates must wear open toed sandals or slippers to the examination
  4. Jewellery is not advisable and only candidates required to wear certain jewellery for religious reasons may be permitted to wear them
  5. Head scarves, turbans are allowed but are subject to frisking
  6. Wearable devices, watch (both analog or digital) are not allowed inside the examination centre

NEET 2020 Documents & Items allowed and not allowed

  1. All candidates are required to carry with them their NEET 2020 Admit Card with duly filled declaration form, original government issued photo id card, PwD certificate (if applicable)
  2. In case of a scribe option availed, a duly filled declaration form has to be carried along with Scribe’s documents and original photo id proof
  3. A ball point pen is permitted and has to be carried to fill in the answer sheets
  4. Phones, Bluetooth devices and other transmitting devices are strictly prohibited at the examination centre
  5. Candidates can carry a transparent water bottle with them to the examination hall as well as a small bottle of hand sanitizer. Please note, no water dispenser would be available at the exam centre in lieu of COVID19 safety measures
  6. No bags, stationary, books or printed material other than the one mentioned in the admit card is allowed

Candidates are also required to carry a coloured photograph to paste on the attendance sheet, as instructed in the admit card. NEET 2020: COVID19 SOPs to be followed before, during and after examination

  1. The candidates would be thermally scanned before entering the campus
  2. If the temperature is less than 37.4°C/99.4°F, they would move to frisk personnel for frisking and if the temperature is more than 37.4°C/99.4°F, they will be taken to Isolation Room.
  3. Local Helpline Number for COVID-19 be displayed prominently at the examination centres and used when required
  4. If a person is found COVID 109 positive the guidelines ask them to be placed in a room or area where they are isolated from others. The person would remain isolated while wearing a mask/face cover until such time he/she is examined by a doctor. In case symptoms deteriorate, the nearest medical facility must be informed or the state or district helpline number must be called.
  5. On completion of the exam, the candidates would be permitted to move out in an orderly manner – One candidate at a time. The gloves and masks would be disposed of in a pedal push covered bin at the Examination Centre and outside the examination room/hall only

As many as 15.67 lakh candidates are set to appear for the only national level examination for admission to medical and dental undergraduate course.
