Today, Google sent out press invites for its newest launch event. The next Google hardware event will happen on September 30, 2020, at 2:00 PM ET.

At this event, we expect Google to launch at least two new Pixel smartphones: the Google Pixel 4a 5G and the Google Pixel 5. In addition, Google’s invite makes it very clear that there will be a new smart speaker as well as a new media streamer.

Obviously, the next Google hardware launch will be an all-online event. As with previous years, Google will likely live stream the event to the general public, so you can watch along as Google unveils its next big products.

As we stated, the Pixel 4a 5G and Pixel 5 are pretty much confirmed to appear at the event. The “new Chromecast” mentioned in the invite is likely not a Chromecast as we’ve come to know it. Instead, it’s likely the Android TV-based device codenamed “Sabrina.” This device should go head-to-head with streamers from companies such as Roku and Amazon.

The “latest smart speaker” mentioned in the invite will likely be an update to the Google Home, the original smart speaker Google launched several years ago. However, this time around the device should have Nest branding, to keep it in line with the Google Nest Hub, Google Nest Mini, etc.

Usually, Google starts pre-orders for devices on the launch date. With that in mind, if you are looking to buy some new Google hardware, you should expect pre-orders to start on September 30!
