Ukraine export wheat prices continue to rise over the past week

KYIV, Sept 14 (Reuters) - Ukraine's 2020 export prices for 12.5% protein milling wheat rose by $6-$7 per tonne over the past week thanks to high demand from importers and worries over a delay in winter wheat sowing, APK-Inform agriculture consultancy said on Monday.

Ukrainian wheat prices stood at $220-$224 per tonne on a free-on-board Black Sea basis as of the end of last week, the consultancy said in a report.

It said 11.5% protein wheat cost between $218 and $222 per tonne FOB Black Sea.

Ukrainian economy ministry has said farmers had not yet started winter what sowing for the 2021 harvest because of severe drought across most regions.

Ukraine is among the world's major wheat growers and exporters, and plans to export 17.5 million tonnes in the 2020/21 July-June season. (Reporting by Pavel Polityuk, editing by Louise Heavens)
