Controversial author and lawyer Reno Omokri has taken to social media to lambast fans of the popular reality TV show Big Brother Naija.
For many Nigerian youths, BBNaija has been a source of entertainment as many take to various social media platforms to campaign for their favourite housemates.
Omokri, who doesn't seem to like the show as he once noted that it is a distraction from the reality of things happening in the country, shared his feeling about people who are so involved in the show.

According to him, many who are focused on the show are not as focused on getting poverty out of their lives.
He noted that while these people focused on the reality TV show for two months, others used the same months to get poverty out of their lives.
According to him, the bag of rice has increased and many youths have used the opportunity to make money from selling it from one state to another.
Calling out fanatics, Omokri stated that all they can boast about is their knowledge of what is happening in BBNaija.
He also mentioned that some people have talked more about the BBNaija show than their life's purpose in the two months that the show started.
Just a few days ago, Legit.ng reported that Omokri said Nigerians deserved the president that they have.

The lawyer said this after Nigerians contributed millions to disqualified Erica as he compared it to the attitude of Nigerian youths to the situation of the country.
According to Omokri, it took just five hours for some youths to raise N5 million for Erica but they couldn't raise the same money in five months to unseat President Muhammadu Buhari in the 2019 elections.
He stated that Nigerian youths are always looking for people to act on their behalf when it comes to important issues but act for themselves when it comes to irrelevancies.
