Kylian Mbappe tells PSG he wants to leave at the end of the season - REPORT
by Ruairi Scott ByrneKylian Mbappe has reportedly informed Paris Saint-Germain chiefs that he wants to leave at the end of the season.
The forward's current deal ends in 2022, meaning PSG will have to sell him next summer to avoid losing him for free now that he has decided to leave.
The Times are reporting that Mbappe has asked to leave so he can further his career after PSG lost this season's Champions League final to Bayern Munich
The player is said to be targeting a move to either La Liga or the Premier League, with both Real Madrid and Liverpool among the clubs heavily linked with Mbappe's services in the past.
Mbappe has received concrete offers from both Real and Manchester City since joining PSG from Monaco in 2018 but rejected them at the time, preferring to stay in France.
However, he now seems prepared to leave and he could be keen on joining Liverpool, having spoken multiple times about his admiration for the football they have been playing under manager Jurgen Klopp.
Speaking back in January, the 21-year-old said: "What Liverpool do in this moment is amazing. They’re like a machine, they’ve found a rhythm and are like ‘we play again, we play again’.
"When you watch you think everything’s easy, but that’s not easy. The guys are focused, they play games every three days and they win, they win, they win."
He later added: "Performances like they have been having don’t just happen. To be as ruthless as they have been would come from lots of hard work in training and from having a very good manager."
Sadio Mane, Mohamed Salah and Roberto Firmino currently make up one of the most dangerous attacking trios in the game but both Salah and Mane have been heavily linked with moves away and Mbappe could be brought in if one of them leaves.
