Fire breaks out at AC gas cylinder godown
by Staff ReporterMassive fire broke at a godown of gas cylinders used for filling in air conditioners and air conditioner goods at 80 ft road in the wee hours on Sunday; locals vacated their houses and remained outside from wee hours till early morning hours.
Over a dozen of fire tender vehicles and 20 fire fighters took over four hours to pacify the fire. The fire was completely controlled and pacified by 6 in the morning which broke out at around 3 in the night after smoke coming out of the godown and gas cylinders started to explode which created panic among the locals who vacated their houses and remained on roads for over four hours.
In the rescue operation no casualty or injury of any person was reported but the locals reported problem in breathing after the gas cylinders exploded at the godown.
SHO Ashoka Garden Alok Shrivastava said that the shop owned by Husna Khan at 80 ft road was damaged severely after gas cylinder meant for filling in air conditioners caught fire and owner of the shop claimed that estimated loss of Rs 80 lakh.
Area in which the godown is situated is residential area and the owner was operating such type of danger work in the area. Around the godown there are residential buildings and could have led to major accident. The investigation into the matter has been started.
