Report: Crystal Palace free to sign Said Benrahma as long as £25m asking-price is met

Crystal Palace are free to make a run at signing Brentford winger Said Benrahma, with the Bees said to be willing to sell the Algerian ace.

However, Thomas Frank will only allow the winger to be sold if their £25m asking-price is met, according to a fresh report from Sky Sports.

Palace are said to already be in talks with the representatives of Benrahma and it is stated that Brentford are happy for the Algerian to leave, as long as their valuation is met.

This new development seems to move things on from the weekend, where the Sun claimed that Palace were now favourites to sign Benrahma after Aston Villa and West Ham moved out of the running.

That reported stated that Brentford valued their man at around the £20m mark but it is now believed, according to Sky, that £25m is the price the Bees will buckle at.

Palace have already raided the Championship once this summer. They signed Ebere Eze in a big-money move from Crystal Palace as Roy Hodgson looks to ensure he has more goals in his team this season.

Whether or not this move by Palace means Wilf Zaha is on his way is another story, but one thing is for sure, and that is that Benrahma should prove to be a fine signing for the Eagles.

Assists, goals, trickery, and pace in wide areas are always a benefit to any club. Yes, the fee is a big one at around £25m but given his potential and ability, Benrahma could prove a bargain.

For Palace fans, it’s nice for them to see their club beating others to signings. In Eze and Benrahma, they’ll have undoubtedly snapped up two of the Championship’s best.
