KFC shares new slogan after scrapping 'Finger Lickin' Good'
For a new campaign KFC has decided to scrap its iconic tagline "It's Finger Lickin' Good" and go with something a little different
by Courtney PochinWhen you think of KFC, you might think of Colonel Sanders and buckets filled with fried chicken.
The world-famous tagline, "It's Finger Lickin' Good" might also pop into your head.
But it seems that slogan, like everything else we love and hold dear, is being taken away from us in 2020 - temporarily, at least.
Yes, as part of its next advertising campaign, KFC UK and Ireland have announced temporary new taglines which were voted for by the British public.
KFC’s biggest superfans were put to the test and challenged to come up with ideas for a temporary slogan as the fast food giants put their iconic one on pause.
Suggestions came from all over the country and even a few celebrities gave it a go - including Professor Green, Made in Chelsea's Oliver Proudlock and radio star Chris Stark.
The entries were whittled down and KFC fans had the chance to vote for their favourites over on Instagram.
Here's a look at the winning slogans that got their votes:
"It’s chicken dippin’ good" - Oliver Proudlock
"It’s forking good" - Stevo The Madman
"It’s make you forget about 2020 good" - Kate Ovens
"It’s my type on paper good" - Olivia Attwood
"It’s lip smackin’ good" - Chris Hughes
"It’s survived 2020, it’s that good" - Chloe Simon, KFC Superfan
"It’s better than your Grandma’s good" - Louisianne Niole-Legge, KFC Team Member
When it came to the Colonel’s Vote, it had to be awarded to Professor Green and his entry "It’s crackin’, even in the wrappin’ good".
So what happens now?
These new slogans will be used across KFC's next campaign, with adverts going up around the UK - you might spot one in a tube station or on the side of a bus stop.
And for those superfans disappointed by this news, don't worry.
A spokesperson for KFC said the original "It’s Finger Lickin’ Good" will be back when the time is right.
