Apple One service subscription bundle outed by Apple Music Android app
The iPhone 12 may still hold a certain secrecy, but it looks like the rumoured service bundle is real
by Henry BurrellThe rumour that Apple is readying a service subscription bundle appears to be true, as 9to5Google has found evidence of it in the latest Apple Music for Android APK.
The service will be called Apple One, which was given away when the publication tore down the code of the latest Apple Music version 3.4.0 beta.
It was previously reported that there would be different options such as the pairing of Apple Music and Apple TV+ in the base option, with adds ons at higher prices of Apple Arcade, Apple News+, and iCloud storage.
The strings of code that 9to5Google published also show that Apple is using the codename ‘aristotle’ for Apple One:
Included in Apple One %s
Subscription Bundle %s
Your Apple Music subscription will be included in Apple One starting %s. You will not be charged for both subscriptions.
You can manage your Apple One subscription using your iPhone, iPad, Apple TV or Mac.
The code suggests the Apple One name, that it is a bundle, that existing Apple Music subscribers won’t be charged twice, and that Android users of Apple One might have to use an iOS or Mac device to even sign up in the first place. This would be very Apple, and it wouldn’t surprise us despite Apple Music’s existence on Android.
While no further details have been uncovered, such as whether Apple will announce Apple One at its 15 September event, the evidence suggests that it will be unveiled soon. As companies charge more for services and people pay for several subscriptions, it makes sense for Apple to tie customers into a service that they will pay for indefinitely. It will likely help to lock people into the Apple ecosystem even further, avoiding churn for the company.
