Coronavirus Scotland: Worker at plush Gleneagles Hotel tests positive for Covid but golf resort remains open

Bosses at the five-star golf resort said colleagues who came into contact with the infected staff member are self-isolating at home.

But no guests are believed to have been affected and the hotel in Perthshire has remained open as normal.
A Gleneagles spokeswoman said: “This was an isolated case affecting an administrative member of our team who has no interaction with guests.
“All those colleagues who had contact with the individual were notified through NHS Scotland’s Test and Protect programme and are now self-isolating in line with government guidance.
“We will continue to monitor the situation carefully.
“The safety of everyone who comes to Gleneagles is our top priority.”
It comes after we told that three Glasgow bars closed in 24 hours after positive coronavirus tests.
Both Glasgow Hootenany and The Spiritualist in the city centre announced they were temporarily closing after staff members tested positive for the virus.
Brett on Great Western Road revealed earlier today that they were also closing after a positive test had been traced back to their bar.
