Sushant’s house manager paid for drugs: Showik

by

Actor Rhea Chakraborty’s brother Showik has told the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) that his sister’s card was used only once to pay for contraband meant for her partner, Sushant Singh Rajput, and that all other payments were handled by the late actor’s house manager, Samuel Miranda, according to documents seen by Mumbai Mirror. Showik has also said that he never paid or received any money for procuring drugs for Rajput.

In his statement Showik said that when he started visiting Rajput, he came to know that the actor smoked cannabis. This was also confirmed by the actor’s friend, Siddharth Pithani, he said.

Showik told the NCB that on March 16 this year, he spoke to his sister Rhea and told her that Sushant had requested marijuana and hashish. “Through WhatsApp chat my sister told me that Sushant is taking marijuana at least four-five times a day. Based on this I told her that I would arrange five grams of bud (curated marijuana)… Then I contacted Abdel Basit Parihar, a friend of mine, to source bud and shared the rates of bud with Rhea and Samuel Miranda, as he used to be the house manager of Sushant then,” the statement said.

Showik further told NCB officials that Miranda was in charge of Rajput’s household, and he was the one who handled the daily finances of the actor and the one who paid for the drugs.

Meanwhile, the NCB on Saturday arrested one Karam Jeet Singh Anand, 23, in connection with the case and recovered banned substances from him. The agency also arrested one Ankush Arenja, 29, who allegedly received contraband from Karam Jeet and supplied it to arrested accused Anuj Keshwani. Forty-two grams of charas and Rs 1.12 lakh in cash was recovered from him.
