by Mazola MolefeErnst Middendorp could jump straight back into another coaching role in the Premier Soccer League, but that all depends…

It’s understood the Urban Warriors have put the 63-year-old high up on their list of candidates and his confirmed departure at Naturena now opens the door for possible discussions, however Ajax have to get through the promotion hurdle first.
The outfit from the Mother City appeared favourites to automatically get one of two places in the Premier Division next season having been at the top of the GladAfrica Championship for large parts of the campaign.
But their performance in the bio-bubble dipped, and it was Swallows FC instead who were promoted, leaving Ajax to slug it out in the play-offs with Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila and Black Leopards in a mini league.

Should the Urban Warriors, currently coached by Calvin Marlin in the interim, fail in their quest to return to the top flight, it’s believed Middendorp could still have a role to play at the club in another capacity, but that’s unclear at the moment.
Middendorp also had interest abroad – in the German Bundesliga 2 as well as the Australian A-League, but remaining in the PSL seems his most likely destination at the moment.
