But she will lead by example by ending her summer break early to work at Buckingham Palace from next month.
Insiders say she “fully intends” to be at the Cenotaph on November 8.
One said: “She’ll be there come hell or high water.”
Her Remembrance Day Cenotaph tribute will round off a hectic schedule starting next month.
The 94-year-old monarch will head to Windsor Castle later this month before returning to her Buckingham Palace office.
Her first jobs are expected to include meeting diplomats, envoys and PM Boris Johnson.
LIFT THE NATION
There are plans for postponed investitures to go ahead in the Palace.
And aides are preparing for Remembrance Sunday November 8 to be her first public engagement since March’s lockdown.
Her attendance, in a Covid-secure environment, will lift the nation as it faces months of new virus rules including the six-person limit at gatherings.
A Palace source said: “The Queen wants to be leading from the front. Remembrance Sunday is a hugely important day for the country and for her personally.
“It is vital she is seen at a key event of national unity.
“She fully intends to be there. It is a staple in her calendar.”
Last year the Queen was seen wiping away a tear as she watched from a balcony with Camilla and Kate.
In lockdown she and Philip, 99, have been surrounded by a ring of protection called HMS Bubble.
She has missed Trooping the Colour, Palace garden parties and Maundy Thursday events.
But she has continued receiving government red boxes and holding weekly calls with the PM.
She briefly stepped out of isolation for a scaled-down birthday, to give a knighthood to Capt Sir Tom Moore, and to be a guest at Princess Beatrice’s wedding.
And she rallied the nation with her televised address at the height of the pandemic.
The Queen and Philip flew to Balmoral in August.
They are expected to spend two weeks at Sandringham, Norfolk, from tomorrow.
