Oklahoma high school football: The Oklahoman’s top 10 games of Week 3

The season is marching forward.
We’re heading into the fourth week of Oklahoma high school football and closing in on district play. Here’s a look at The Oklahoman’s top 10 games of Week 3:
1. Class 6A-II No. 1 Bixby (2-0) at No. 2 Stillwater (2-0): The rematch of the past two Class 6A-II state championship games could be one of the best nondistrict games in state history. Both Bixby and Stillwater have rolled through their first two weeks. Bixby has done it behind star junior running back Braylin Presley while Stillwater has relied on the state’s best running back in senior Qwontrel Walker.
2. Class 2A No. 2 Jones (2-0) at Class 3A No. 4 Tulsa Lincoln Christian (1-0): This game was postponed two weeks, but it shouldn’t take away from what could be a preview of two teams that could make state title runs. Jones junior quarterback CArson May will face his strongest test yet against Lincoln Christian’s stout defense.
3. Class A No. 4 Thomas (1-0) at No. 2 Cashion (3-0): A matchup of strength against speed. Cashion’s speed and athleticism, with Ben Harman guiding a strong passing attack, will be tested against Thomas’ size, with lineman Aden Kelley leading the way up front.
4. Class 6A-II No. 4 Del City (0-2) at Class 5A No. 4 McGuinness (1-1): Both teams are coming off close losses in rivalry games. Del City’s dominant defense with linebackers Donovan Stephens and Rejhan Tatum will look to slow down McGuinness quarterback Luke Tarman.
5. Class 3A No. 1 Heritage Hall (2-0) at Class 4A No. 10 John Marshall (1-1): Heritage Hall’s stout defense will face its toughest test yet against John Marshall’s speed. The Chargers will need to be strong up front and in the secondary to slow down Bears’ senior wide receiver Bryce Stephens.
6. Class 2A No. 10 Tulsa Metro Christian (1-1) at Class 3A No. 3 Tulsa Holland Hall (2-0): The defending Class 2A state champions, Metro Christian, fell in their opener but looked solid bouncing back. It will face a tough challenge against a Holland Hall team because of star Owen Ostroski, a standout defensive lineman.
7. Class B No. 4 Cherokee (3-0) at No. 1 Shattuck (2-0): The battle between 8-man powers will see whether Cherokee, which has dominated in each game this season, can stop Shattuck’s win streak that stands at 37 straight after its win against Destiny Christian in Week 2.
8. Class 6A-II No. 5 Muskogee (0-2) at Class 5A No. 8 Coweta (1-1): Muskogee expects Oklahoma State commit Ty Williams, who plays quarterback and defensive back, to return and will need him against a Coweta team capable of pulling an upset.
9. Class 6A-I No. 10 Yukon (1-1) at No. 8 Norman North (1-0): Yukon and Norman North are looking to get back into the playoffs this season, and a win will propel either team into district play with a winning record.
10. Class 3A No. 2 Berryhill (0-0) at Class 4A Cushing (2-0): Berryhill has yet to begin its season and will face a challenge in its opener against an athletic Cushing team that upset Perkins-Tryon in Week 2.
