MS Dhoni Is One Of The Best Finishers Ever: David Miller

by

MS Dhoni, former Indian captain, is one of the greatest finishers in the history of white-ball cricket.

With his cool and calm demeanor, ability to read the situation, enormous self-belief, and of-course outrageous talent, MS Dhoni has orchestrated some of the most awe-inspiring run-chases during the course of his decade and a half old career.

And, by doing that over and over again, Dhoni has not only left a lasting impact on his fans but also on his contemporaries.

David Miller recently heaped praise on MS Dhoni, adding that he ‘absolutely loves’ the way MSD goes about his business.

“I absolutely love the way Dhoni goes about his business. Certainly his calmness – you just think he’s always under control. The way he portrays himself, that’s something he’s extremely good at and I do enjoy that about him. I try and give off the same energy,” David Miller told ‘ESPNcricinfo’.

MS Dhoni belongs to a rare bread of cricketer, whose success as an elite batsman proves that one can succeed at the top-level with an unorthodox technique.

Miller, who has played against MSD for a long period of time, said that Dhoni, like every other player, has go his own strengths and weaknesses, and while he is in awe of some of the run-chases that Dhoni has affected, he has never tried to emulate the manner in which he bats.

“He’s got his strengths and weaknesses as a batsman and so do I. I tend to be in awe of some of his chases rather than ‘I want to bat like him’. I suppose I just want to finish games as he does,” David Miller said.

“Technique-wise and the way you go about it, we all have our own ways. I don’t think I can rate myself or put myself in a category. We’ll see how my career unfolds and finishes and then we can look back and sort of judge. Definitely, Dhoni is one of the best finishers ever; he’s proven it many times. I love watching him play.” he added.

David Miller will be representing the Rajasthan Royals in IPL 2020 while MS Dhoni will make his comeback to competitive cricket after a hiatus of 14 months.
