Sachin Tendulkar Lends Helping Hand To 560 Children From Economically Backward Section
by CA EditorLegendary Sachin Tendulkar has joined hands with an NGO to support 560 tribal children from economically backward section. The former India batsman has partnered with ‘NGO Parivaar’ which has built Seva Kutirs in remote villages in the Sehore district of Madhya Pradesh to help the needy.
Due to the work from the former India international’s foundation, children from villages Sewaniya, Beelpati, Khapa, Nayapura and Jamunjheel in Sehore district are now getting much-needed nourished meals and education. The children are predominantly from Barela Bhil and Gond tribes.
“This initiative by Sachin is testimony to his concern towards tribal children in Madhya Pradesh who have been plagued by malnutrition and illiteracy,” a press release stated, according to PTI.
Ever since retiring from the game in 2013, Sachin Tendulkar has been highly active in working for the cause of children, especially those belonging to the marginalised and the not so economically affluent section of the society. A goodwill ambassador for UNICEF, the decorated batsman has regularly spoken about interventions like ‘Early Childhood Development’.

Talking about his cricket career, Sachin Tendulkar is the most decorated batsman in the history of the game. He holds the record for most runs in Tests (15,921) and ODIs (18,426) in addition to scoring a record 100 international centuries. In 2011, he had also helped India win the World Cup at home.
