‘Quit If Rule Of Law Not Enforced’- High Court Pulls Up DGP & AP Police

Yet again, Andhra Pradesh government on Monday fell under the scathing attack of Andhra Pradesh High Court. Adding another legal strike into the list, High Court this time made serious comments on Andhra Pradesh police system and DGP Gautam Sawang.

Addressing the ‘Rule of Law’ enforcement in the state, the High Court bench on Monday made strong comments on DGP asking him to resign if he could not control the police system.

The HC made the comments hearing the habeas corpus case filed by Sunkara Narayana over the mysterious missing of his nephew Venkataraju in Amalapuram, East Godavari district.

The court also questioned the DGP over the police are being found guilty in numerous cases in recent times. Recalling that this is not the first time the police boss was summoned, the High Court fumed on the efficiency of the state police department quoting the examples of a couple of cases in the past.

Starting with the arrest of former CM Chandrababu Naidu at Vizag airport, it can be recalled that the DGP was summoned to the court in illegal arrest of advocate Subhash Chandra Bose and the case related to the seizure of vehicles used for transportation of liquor.
