They may have retired from the game but these ‘golden oldies’ have remained in tip-top shape years after calling time on their careers.

Check out these stars who have maintained their shape despite being over 40 in the gallery above.

While they were fine footballers during their days, it is the work ethic they have maintained after the game that is even more impressive.

Our very own Lucky Lekgwathi, who will go down as one of the most successful captains in the history of the club, having won a double treble during his 14-year stay at Mayfair has remained in to shape despite retiring four years ago.

Now at 45, ‘Phinda Mzala’ has been hitting the gym, and hard as he continues to show off his incredible physique.

Meanwhile fans have been gushing over the impeccable shape of former AC Milan and Real Madrid great Clarence Seedorf and most recently Ze Roberto.

Unlike other retired footballers who lose their shape shortly after calling time on their careers, the former Real Madrid duo have remained in shape despite being well into their 40s.

As for Ze Roberto, the former Bayern Munich and Real Madrid man recently had tongues wagging when he uploaded a topless image of himself on Instagram.

The post immediately went viral, with many of his one million followers commending him for his mint condition.

The man who retired in 2017 showed that age is indeed nothing but a number.
