Richardson Moreira defends light heavyweight title against Jonathan Wilson in Taura MMA 11 main event

by

The light heavyweight title will go up for grabs at Taura MMA 11 when reigning champion Richardson Moreira will face off with fellow UFC veteran Jonathan Wilson in the main event on Oct. 30, MMA Fighting has learned.

Taura MMA 11 will take place in Kissimmee, Fla. with a small number of fans allowed to attend the event. Promoters will sell 1,800 tickets for the socially distanced event with the Silver Spurs Arena set to hold up to 15,000 fans.

After dropping three fights in a row including a pair of losses in the UFC, Moreira bounced back with a win in his last outing against Marcus Vinicius to claim the Taura light heavyweight title. Now he will attempt to score a second straight win while facing off with Wilson in the main event from Florida.

Wilson will return to action after picking up a win in his most recent fight against Derek Eason at a Gladiator Challenge event this past December. Prior to that, Wilson had lost three straight in the UFC, which led to his exit from the promotion.

Moreira vs. Wilson will headline the event on Oct. 30 will several prominent matchups already announced for the card including the return of Antonio “Bigfoot” Silva as he takes on Brett Martin and Guto Inocente facing off with DJ Linderman.
