No firing incident took place in Qazigund: IGP Vijay Kumar

Police on Monday appealed general public not to propagate rumors of firing on Naka party in Qazigund area of south Kashmir’s Kulgam district.

“On September 14, 2020 around 1555 hrs, three firing-like sounds were heard near Dalwach Qazigund where police and CRPF parties were deployed. However after thorough investigation it was determined that the sounds came from the silencer of a Maruti van which was crossing the Naka and hence no firing had taken place”, IGP Kashmir Zone Vijay Kumar said.

“Public is requested not to propagate rumors of firing on Naka party as no such incident has occurred”, he added. (KNS)
