Gareth Bale 'erased' by Real Madrid as they 'pray' for Man Utd transfer

by

It’s fair to say Gareth Bale is not exactly flavour of the month at Real Madrid these days.

The Welshman has barely featured since the return of Zinedine Zidane and has been outspoken regarding his frustration at being denied a transfer exit.

Bale was close to leaving in January before a move to China fell through and is now the subject of fresh links with Manchester United.

And in another sign he has very little future at the Bernabeu, he has seemingly been ‘erased’ by the club ahead of the new season.

As noted by Marca, Bale and Los Blancos seemingly want little to do with each other with hopes concrete offers will be made.

Whilst Bale is not training with Zidane’s squad as he works on his fitness in the gym, and he has been snubbed from any pictures of training posted by the club.

Other players consigned to the gym, such as Eden Hazard and Isco, have appeared to show their progress but Bale’s presence has been ignored.

His shirts have also been removed from display in the club shop, and although No.11 shirts with his name are still available they are not being promoted.

Bale’s image has also been absent from any promotion of their new kit, with various members of the squad promoted but no trace of Bale.

The Times have reported that he would be keen on a move to Manchester United and would accept a loan deal as they consider a stop-gap solution due to the price of Jadon Sancho.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has already brought in Donny van de Beek but Jadon Sancho remains Manchester United's number one target.

However, they have so far failed to agree a deal with Borussia Dortmund and are considering Gareth Bale as an alternative.

Spanish newspaper Sport claim that Real Madrid recognise that Old Trafford may be the only destination that fits and they are ‘praying’ for an approach to offload Bale.

They see an offer from United as their ‘last hope’ to get him off the wage bill as they hope Sancho’s move will fall through and prompt a fresh approach.

With weeks remaining until the October 5 transfer deadline, Bale’s future appears set for plenty more twists and turns with agent Jonathan Barnett working on the situation.

Bale recently addressed his future, and admitted he would be open to returning to the Premier League if a club was to make an offer for him.

He said: "If those options arise, it is something I'd look at for sure. We'll see what happens, we have plenty of time in this transfer window and a couple of others as well.

"Time will tell but mainly I think the reason is that the decision is in Real Madrid's hands."
