The media office of the Russian Ministry of Health said, in a statement issued this evening, Monday: “The first batch of the vaccine for the prevention of the emerging (Corona) virus, Sputnik V, designed by the Gamaleya Research Center for Epidemiology and Microbiology, underwent the necessary tests for its quality in the laboratories of the Federal Authority for monitoring in the field of Health, and it has been entered into public circulation.”
The Ministry of Health statement added: “It is expected that the first batches of the vaccine will be supplied to Russian regions in the near future,” according to The Eastern Herald correspondent Veronica.
Russia is the first country in the world to announce the registration of a vaccine against the Coronavirus, and it was called “Sputnik V”.
