COVID burnout is rampant at work
In 2019, the World Health Organisation (WHO) declared burnout a syndrome. A syndrome is described as a cluster of symptoms that often occur at the same time.
Burnout is a common physical ailment which makes people feel extreme exhaustion, demotivated towards completing tasks and experience mental fog, among many other symptoms.
We’re in September, a few months away from the end of the year, making this a time where burnout is most likely to be felt by employees at work.
Contrary to expectation, working remotely has led to increased burnout among employees, increasing stress and mental health crises.
There are a number of things employers can do to ensure that the risk of their workers experiencing burnout decreases, including reducing working hours and providing a work-life balance which means when they’re off the clock — they’re off!
