Poultry farms new den of illegal liquour trade; 15 boxes seized

As the Indore Excise Department is taking firm steps to check manufacture and  transportation of illegal liquor in Indore district, the smugglers are finding new ways of smuggling and hiding liquor.

In the latest case, smugglers are hiding and selling liquor from the poultry farms. Around 15 boxes that is 133 bulk liter of country made liquor was recovered from the Shakti poultry farm at Nemawar road and the watchman of the poultry farm Nahar Singh son of Sukhlal was arrested.

In another case around 14 boxes of country made liquor and 2 boxes of foreign liquor a total of 143 bulk liter was confiscated from Renuka Dhaba at village Dhudia on Nemawar road and the accused Nandkishore Parmar son of Jagannath was arrested.

A total of 31 boxes that is 276 bulk liters of liquor was confiscated in both the traps. Both the accused are booked under section 34 (1)k (2) of excise act 1915.

Indore collector Manish Singh has alerted assistant excise commissioner Indore Raj Narayan Soni to keep an eagle eye on sale manufacture and transportation of illegal liquor for which Indore assistant excise commissioner Raj Narayan Soni has instructed all the circle officers of entire Indore district to act swiftly on any information regarding the illegal sale of liquor from the citizens and also conduct self-checking with their team in their respective areas.

Sub inspector Malwa mill circle Lakshmikant Ramteke sub inspector Devendra Sharma of Palasia circle and sub inspector Santosh Singh of Rajmohalla circle led the team trap team in both the trap. The total cost of the confiscated liquor is Rs 1,62,560. Both the smugglers have been sent to jail.
