There is a lot happening in the country with the virus outbreak continuing to rule the roost nationwide. Amid all this, different weather conditions in several parts of the country are also testing the citizens at regular intervals. In Pune, which is already under the COVID-19 scanner, rain is likely to add to the woes of the commoners.

In this regard, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Sunday (September 13) came forward with the forecast which states that the city of Pune is set to experience heavy rainfall during the next three days, and particularly on Tuesday (September 15). Met officials said a low-pressure system had formed off the Andhra Pradesh coast in the Bay of Bengal on Sunday. Hence, a senior met official pointed out, "As this system is expected to move westwards, the southwest monsoon will become vigorous over Maharashtra and this will bring heavy rain over Pune district and other parts between Monday and Wednesday."

The met officials said the Madhya Maharashtra region, which includes Pune district, is likely to get rain from Monday onwards only. Meanwhile depicting the condition from Thursday to Saturday, the official said the district is likely to receive moderate rainfall. On these days, the maximum temperature can be recorded between the span of 29-30°C whereas the minimum temperature can be in the range of 21-22°C.

While the pandemic is far from getting over, the city of Pune is experiencing a spike in terms of positive cases on a daily basis.

Talking about the virus scare and the negligence of health authorities, a bizarre incident took place in Pune when a 59-year-old woman died and her reports finally came out the following day, which came positive. Hence, it has added to the woes of her family as they would now have to test themselves amid their grief.
